I just read this book. I loved it. I've liked the 1999 film version for a while but I never got around to reading it until now. I recently watched the 1960 film adaptation as well. Alain Delon's performance as Tom Ripley was fantastic, however, the film was too loose and the ending wasn't satisfying. In fact, the ending was changed completely which alters the moral and ethical stance of the story and makes the Ripley character an unsatisfactory and flawed version of what he is in the books. For interest sake the 1960 version is worth checking out but for the real deal check the 1999 film.... or just read the book.
This image is intended for use as a film poster should the Fox ever decide to play the movie. It's not 100% complete.
Enjoy!
