Squidface and the meddler have featured the upcoming speak easy show on their website and they're using my illustration to promote it! Yay! Maximum Exposure for Gramma Jones!
I'm pretty sure this big baby has been on my blog before, but just in case. I used it as a temporary welcome page for a week or so. It wasn't quite right, but I've always liked this drawing.
This is the start of a new Toy Sculpt. This one is a character from an older illustration. His name is 2. The design will be simpler than the bubblegum toy and as a result will be easier to mold and reproduce. It will essentially be a solid piece of polymer with no intricate limb positioning.
This was a temporary Welcome Page for my website. I took it down because it looked a bit too much like I just grabbed a random image from my sketch book. I like the drawing though so I figured I share it.
Check out this awesome book! A 1948 Government of Ontario approved Math textbook!!! I love the texture and the printing quality. If I had books this cool when I was a lad I may have decided to be a financial adviser or a accountant. Alas, it was not meant to be.
I've been offered the chance to participate in this year's Speak Easy Illustration show at the Gladstone Hotel! I've been a part of this show twice in the past and I've had fun both times. Looking forward to seeing some great work.
The show is on October the 6th at the Gladstone, come out and see the work (and drink some steamwhistle).
This is the latest use of my screen printer. Lots and lots of these heads floating around the office today. I'm not 100% sure what to do with them all et but I do know that they all need mouths of varying expressions. Fun stuff.
This is the colouring for the portrait I did of Roman. I really like the way it gives a vague sense of the drawing without giving away any details. It's a pretty neat looking thing all on its lonesome.
Some new projects coming soon. Look forward to seeing some brand new work very soon!
